Enjoy spending a little time reading about why Nordic Tug owners bought their boat. If you are interested in spending time talking to our owners in person, plan to attend one of our owner association rendezvous – you don’t have to own a tug to attend, you just have be prepared to have some good wholesome fun, and to meet a wonderful group of people. A word of caution though - they WILL brag about their tugs!

We just returned from a long cruise and I really wish we had photos to share. After offshore cruising all through the islands and Keys we had encountered some rough weather but no problems of any kind with the boat handling the seas. This cruise was all inland on the Tennessee River as well as the Cumberland and Tenn-Tom. On the morning of January 16 we pulled anchor on Wilson Lake (part of the Tennessee River system) and motored out of the cove only to be hit with 25-30kt wind and 3-4 ft seas on the port bow. Of course this was not a big deal and we headed into Wilson Lock going down onto Pickwick Lake. As we exited the lock onto Pickwick Lake it seemed that the wind had died down and all was calm until we got out of the lock canal about a mile or so downstream. WOW the wind speed meter hit 40kts and the waves were breaking like you were entering a rough inlet! Pickwick Lake is shallow in places and this really made the waves rise up to the point of being even with the windshield top and breaking over as well. I guess I should have figured when the towboats and barges pull over and park on the banks something is going on. We endured this weather for several hours and for the first time I buried the bow in a wave, not once but four times. The most amazing thing was we never felt even the least bit nervous or had any concern about our safety at all. When we turned onto the Tenn-Tom waterway after several hours of wild water and high winds we both remarked about how even in 40ks of wind and very rough water we had never taken the boat off auto-pilot and she never once was blown off course. It was also about 30 degrees so the boat looked like she was made of ice when we got to the marina that afternoon from all the water crashing over the bow and freezing. I have been boating for 27 years in boats from a 65 Hatteras to a 44 Gulfstar and I have to admit this little Tug has never ceased to amaze and impress me.

Praise For Nordic Tugs! Letter to Passagemaker Magazine.
I would like to relate a story to you in the hopes that it could be included in your great magazine. My wife and I have owned boats for the last 40 years and are very active in boating. We sailed for over 30 years and then went to a GB42 Classic. We sold it last fall after eight and a half years and 2,700 hours of engine time. We then purchased a used 2003 Nordic Tug 37. I only mention this to qualify ourselves as being fairly experienced.
The Nordic Tugs company is one of the best companies we have ever dealt with, marine or otherwise. The boat we bought had very little usage due to the owner becoming ill and not being able to boat. We found a problem with the bow thruster tube fairing which was quite costly to repair, about $1,100. Even though the warranty does not transfer to a new owner on a three-year-old boat, Nordic Tugs paid for the repair. But that is not the end of the story.
We have had continued support from the company in our boat ownership experience. A real person answers the phone quickly and puts the customer in touch with another real person to help them. I would say I have called them perhaps 30 times with various questions and have always had the same experience. The people at the company we’ve dealt with universally showed in-depth knowledge of the boat’s construction, and we continue to be amazed by how well they support their boat owners. In a world of “We don’t know, or can’t help, or that’s not our fault” corporate response, Nordic Tugs really stands out to be an exceptional company in all respects. Great boat, too.

A guy gets to buy a brand new boat once in his life. Kate and I took delivery of our brand new Nordic Tug 37 "Adventure-Us" in Anacortes WA on July 1. After 25 years of happy sailing, we're now tugging - it's a lot comfier, let us tell you.
ARGGH! On August 1 we were tied up to the dock in Pender Harbour showing off our new boat to some friends when a 49' yacht sideswiped us. He apparently put his engine in reverse to make the turn and the control cable wasn't connected to the shift lever.
His anchor took a divot out of our fiberglass, wiped off our ship's bell and a handrail, and shattered a window.
The very same day that we called the Nordic Tug factory, they coordinated with Diamond Seaglaze the window manufacturer, and a replacement was on its way! Thanks a million to Dan Hilsinger and Keith Hulst at Nordic Tug, and Gord Tamaki and Sheri Cooper at Diamond Seaglaze Windows. In a few days, a local handyman helped me install the new window (temporarily, till it's fixed properly later) and we were on our way to continue our cruise to Desolation Sound and the Broughton Archipelago.
Customer service doesn't get any better than this. We're sure glad we chose a Nordic Tug.

In a word: Consistency. The build quality of a Nordic Tug is consistently top quality, the handling of the boat is consistently predictable, it is consistently stable and the pleasure it delivers to the owners and their guests is consistently enjoyable.
